What is Psychotherapy?
How will Psychotherapy make me feel better?
The reason we suffer in life is not based on what happens to us, it is based on our response to what happens. For example, if something goes wrong at work, our struggle isn’t due this situation at hand, it is due to our thoughts, feelings and reactions to what happened. With psychotherapy, you will develop the skills to handle and change your thoughts, feelings, and reactions to life’s circumstances. With this skillset, you will be fully equipped to handle any situation with ease, grace, clarity and empowerment.
What exactly is Psychotherapy?
When you change your thoughts and feelings, you can change your actions. When you change your actions, you will improve your life. Psychotherapy is the process of changing your thoughts and feelings, which results in changing your actions or behaviors. We will do this through the process of guided self-reflection. I will ask you questions to help you understand why you think and feel the way you. With this understanding, we will develop strategies to relinquish those thoughts and feeling that hinder you in life, while creating a new frame work of thoughts and feelings that that empower you to reach your goals and potential.
How might I experience Psychotherapy in my Life Therapy Sessions?
In session, we will explore whatever feels most important to you in the moment. Starting with an underlying sense of the goals you would like to achieve long-term, we will organically move between past, present and future to help you gain a better understanding of why you think and feel the way you do. We will then create strategies to move beyond faulty thinking and difficult feelings, so that you feel more clear minded, balanced, and intentional when creating and achieving your goals.
How does Psychotherapy differ from Life Coaching?
The primary goal of psychotherapy is to understand the thoughts and the feelings behind your actions, so that you can uncover the source when creating lasting change in your life. On the other hand, Life Coaching focuses less on understanding why you think and feel the way you do and focuses more on direct actionable approaches and practices to change unhealthy behaviors. Both practices can be extremely beneficial in different circumstances.
