A theme for 2012 has become clear to me as I declare this the year of knowing what I need. It’s not about just knowing what my needs are but also honoring those needs. It sounds simple, but I’ve noticed in both my life and for others, that so often when a concern or upset is consuming us, there is some need that we have either failed to identify or failed to honor. And by needs I’m referring to what we need to be healthy, to be of service, and to flourish in our relationships, with self and others, in our careers and in relationship with all our life’s desires.

How do you know what type of physical training is best for you?

With all of the various methods and do’s & don’ts within the physical fitness industry, how do you know what is right for you?  And what role do your own instincts and inspiration play in that?
Personally, I have always loved striving to be healthy and take care of my body. I like how it makes me feel good, look good and full of energy. Why am I always hungry?

I used to eat lots and lots of snacks. It slowly got to a point where I would freak out if I left the house without a little snack in my mouth, in my hand, and in my purse. For instance, if I knew we were going out to dinner in an hour, I would have a snack. My thoughts were, “Who knows, it could be two hours before we are sitting down to eat!” I feared the irritability and anxiety I felt if I wasn’t sure when I would eat next, so I made sure I was always eating.
