It is crucial in this day and age to cultivate forgiveness and to “not sweat the small stuff.” Forgiving doesn’t mean you condone someone for their wrongs, but it means you don’t exacerbate that hurt by holding a grudge that in the end is most harmful especially to your own self.
As Nelson Mandela said: “Resentment is like a glass of poison that a man drinks; then he sits down and waits for his enemy to die.”
