What is Mindfulness?
How will Mindfulness make me feel better?
Just because you think it, doesn’t mean it’s true. Have you ever noticed that from the minute you wake up in the morning until you go to bed at night that your mind is constantly thinking? Have you ever tried to just stop thinking? Not possible right? What this teaches us is that we actually have very little control over our thoughts and feelings; they just come and go as they please. Mindfulness will teach you to detach from the thoughts and feelings that do not enhance your life, so that you feel centered, balanced and aligned.
What exactly is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the process of become a loving, accepting observer of anything that goes on within you. It is the process of learning not to believe your mind chatter as truth, not to overreact to uncomfortable feelings that arise within. It is the process of aligning with a deep, powerful, calm, wisdom within you, that can handle anything that happens in your life.
How will I experience Mindfulness in my Life Therapy Sessions?
In session, I will teach you mindfulness strategies to help you connect to this deep, powerful part of yourself. You will determine which mindfulness strategies resonate most with you, and develop practices so that you can benefit from the calm, clarity, ease and balance that comes from being mindful throughout your days.
How is Mindfulness different than Psychotherapy?
Mindfulness is the ability to observe your thoughts and feelings objectively without having to believe them or be attached to them. Whereas psychotherapy is the process of observing your thoughts and feelings with the intention to understand where they come from, so that you can change, challenge or release them. Both practices can be extremely beneficial depending on the circumstance.
