There Is Nothing Wrong with You: Going Beyond Self-Hate

There Is Nothing Wrong with You: Going Beyond Self-Hate by Cheri Huber is a book that I highly recommend. This wonderful read is completely dedicated to revealing the origin of self-hate, the forms it takes, how it works, how to identify it, and how to free yourself from it. The book explores how self-hate demonstrates itself through taking blame, and not credit, holding grudges and constantly reaching for perfection, and how it influences the development of addictions. In addition, the book guides one through meditation practices that help free oneself from self-hate and cultivate self-love.
Cheri Huber is a zen teacher, writer, and speaker. She is the founder and resident teacher of the Mountain View Zen Center in Mountain View, California, and the Zen Monastery Practice Center in Murphys, California. In addition, she is a leader of multiple workshops and retreats around the United States and around the world. In 2003, she founded Living Compassion, a non-profit organization whose mission is to cultivate conscious compassionate community from the inside out. She is an author of 19 books, including When You’re Falling, Dive and Time-Out for Parents.
