How to be a Calmer Parent

The most important thing to do is focus on our breath. When we are anxious and stressed, our breath gets short and tight in our chest.

If we take long, calm, deep breaths, it really just grounds us in the moment, and that’s what we need most when we’re feeling stressed and anxious. It’s not something we’re going to solve with our minds. It has to be something that we solve with our hearts and with our bodies, to come to the stillness of a moment around us.

We need to look outside ourselves, feel the wind on our face, hear the birds chirping, touch our skin, do whatever it takes to stop getting more caught up in our minds, and come deeper into our hearts.
